*CORA* It was already 6:30 when I finished my work and came back home. Winnie had already prepared dinner.When I came back,I too Lily for a brief walk. Cora was past tense.As a servant,how could she not see the situation of things clearly? Winnie stood up and went into the kitchen,sad.Mr Godoy had never treated her like this. Why did this woman have such a hold on him? She could imagine how wronged Cora felt. Winnie sighed and she prepared two more dishes for Phoebe. After all her effort and stress,Phoebe only had two bites and claimed she would gain weight if she ate too much at night. Winnie cleaned up the table and said nothing.She just wondered what her boss sees in such a shake. **************** *TRISTAN* After dinner,Phoebe whispered to me.”I’m going to take a shower now.You can come join me.” I gestured to the laptop I was holding,letting her know that I was busy. She smiled and sauntered off. I began to work on my laptop on the sofa.My hands were typing on the keyboard but I felt bothered. The light in Cora’s room was on upstairs but she hadn’t stepped out since I got home. I stared at the closed door. The room was close to me,yet it felt so far away at the same time. A feeling of not being taken seriously by Cora lingered in my mind. I had no idea why it bruised my ego, why I felt so pained that she never saw me as her husband,why I felt so pained that she’d rather be with Alvin. Should I finally announce our divorce now and let her go? **************** *CORA* I laid on the bed feeling so upset that Phoebe was still in this house. Hadn’t he punished me enough for whatever he claimed I had done to him? Why can’t he just let me go? The moment he brought Phoebe into this house, he completely shattered the love I had for her,the remaining love rather.
