*CORA* I turned to face Phoebe. “Can’t you just leave me alone for one sec?”I asked her. “Stay away from Tristan.I want you out of his life or else,I’ll continue making things hard for you and your friend.” I smirked.”I really have no business with Tristan anymore.He’s the one who’s still keeping me in his house.I really planned to stay away from him but you really crossed the line for messing with my friend today so because of that,I’m going to take Tristan back!” I decided to purposely hit her soft spot. Phoebe lashed out.”You won’t dare!You can’t love him as much as I do.I love him and I will do anything to remain in his life.You’re just an ant to me,Cora and if you test me,I’m going to crush you.” Annoyed by her attitude,I sneered.”You’re smaller than an ant to me because you just keep acting so small and worthless.Why are you always worried that Tristan will leave you?If you continue making trouble for me,then I’ll give you exactly what you deserve.”With that,I walked out of the bathroom without looking back. Dylan walked up to me.”Are you okay?” I looked up and nodded. “Let’s go.”I said to him. The most aggrieved thing was not being framed three times,but the disgusted look on Tristan’s face. I knew this was the last straw.I knew that he was filled with total hatred for me now and would do even meaner things to me. But even if it felt like I was being strangled to death,I couldn’t give up. After walking out of Tristan’s sight,Dylan apologized. “I’m so sorry,Cora.It’s all my fault.I can’t let your father’s company suffer the loss.How about this?I’ll let the departments and industries of my company that need daily necessities to make statistics and get specific data.You can accept our pricing based on the price previously given to the Godoy Group.Please accept,Cora.I will feel so guilty if you reject my offer.” Tears stung my eyes.”I do not blame you for anything,Dylan.You were looking out for me like you always do.This is all my fault.I shouldn’t have told you about my problems and made you worry about me.” “Oh come on,I…just leave him.Leave that man,Cora.I just feel like killing him!” I held his arm. “Please do not get involved anymore.Tristan can be really ruthless and I don’t want him coming after you.” Dylan looked so upset and I could only hope he listens to me. ********************** It was a sunny afternoon,and the wind was hot and dry.The street was crowded with people.All the passers-by narrowed their eyes and grieved,as if they hated this great enthusiasm. People in Godoy Group whispered about what happened in the office that morning.They liked to gossip at leisure. Besides,they knew who Dylan was,and how wealthy his family was. “That lady,Phoebe presents has been quite suspicious.How can the boss be openly cheating on his wife?The CEO’s wife must have had enough and decided to deal with her.”Kate, the most gossipy girl said aloud,she was surrounded by some employees. Daniel didn’t care much about these things at first.Every time his colleagues talked to him,he just listened to them silently and never spoke. As a result,he was alienated by them. People always preferred to stand in a straight line so they would think that they were on the same side. ************** Unfortunately,Daniel was not the kind of person who liked to judge right from wrong since childhood.But as time went by,he found that he was alienated by the office. Daniel was depressed.So every time they talked about gossip,he had to pretend to be interested and finally eased the relationship between colleagues.However,he never participated in the discussion,so it was not necessary to solve the root course. “What if Phoebe is pregnant?I always felt that the boss isn’t the kind of person to cheat so Phoebe must be pregnant,you know,the boss has been married for three years and his wife didn’t conceive,what if he decided to have a mistress so she could give him a child?”Another gossipy girl added. Everyone nodded and shook their heads at the thought of that. “The wife of the chairman is so pitiful.She’s very beautiful,she doesn’t deserve this.” Daniel returned to his seat and began to sort out the documents.Everyone was still whispering when Tristan suddenly walked into the hallway. The crowd dispersed in shock as if they had seen a ghost. All of a sudden,the hallway was filled with loud discussions about the work documents. Tristan didn’t say anything to anymore.He was just here to get Phoebe’s bag and examine the scene of the incident earlier today. *********** When I entered my secretary’s office,the broken glass on the floor had been cleaned. The traces of blood had disappeared as well. The disappointment in my heart was overwhelming. For three years,I couldn’t believe I was married to such a person. While pretending she cared about me,she was screwing my friend and now,all she does was hurt people. Why did she even marry me in the first place? She was full of deceits! I felt a sharp pain in my head and I mentally mocked myself for not getting any sleep because of that vicious woman. Holding Phoebe’s bag,I headed out of the office. I am Tristan Godoy. I hate that I’m easily affected by someone like her and I am going to make her pay for everything. ************* *CORA* Sitting on the balcony of the villa,I looked at the starry sky. It was said that people would become stars in the sky after they died.Then in the dark night covered by dark clouds,was it the energy of the world of the dead that appears on purpose? I didn’t even know what I was thinking about anymore. My thoughts were all over the place as I took a sip of the wine I was holding. I didn’t like drinking but I had to today. I needed it. ****************** Winnie finished cooking in the afternoon,and saw that Cora had only eaten a little. Recently,she felt the atmosphere was tensed between the couple. Cora had been out all weekend the other night and she saw how bothered Tristan was about it. And the last time when Cora fainted,Tristan stayed by herself. But whenever they saw each other,they would argue or simply give each other the silent treatment. Winnie knew they had led a loveless marriage from the beginning but they didn’t argue like this before. She also knew of Cora’s feelings for Tristan and with some gestures Tristan made towards her,Winnie was starting to think that he was falling for her too. But recently,the couple could barely stand the sight of each other.She didn’t like seeing them like this and she couldn’t help but wonder what went wrong.
