*TRISTAN* Seeing Marcus’ eyes widened,I knew he was trying to make sense of what Cora had just said. He was trying to figure out if we had gotten divorced. Damn this woman! I knew clearly that nothing really happened between Marcus and Cora few minutes ago. Cora should know that I’m fully aware of the kind of person Marcus was. I had planned to follow his truck and see what he wanted to do but I didn’t expect that this woman would be so stupid that she didn’t see through my intentions and even said such harsh words to me. I was pissed off by her provocative tone and I lost control of my temper. “You make me sick!I wish I was never entangled with you!” She glared at me.”I make you sick?Well,you make me feel comatose, in fact,I cursed the day I met you.” I blinked,stunned by her words. She crossed her arms and continued. “You’re not one to talk to me about regret at all,I wish I can turn back the hands of time.I wish I can erase you from my life!You have another woman and…” I glanced at Marcus who had a smile on his face. Marcus was a mischievous person and he was one of the people that shouldn’t know about everything going on with me. But Cora wouldn’t stop talking. I had to stop her somehow, So without thinking,I closed the distance between us and pressed my lips against hers. ***************** Marcus who was standing next to them was confused by the whole interaction.It seemed that there was a lot of information in their words and actions but he couldn’t understand it at all. Still,he was sure that there must be something huge going on with Tristan and Cora. He was determined to find out about it. Suddenly,someone pulled him and he turned to see a man in a flowery shirt. He tidied up his clothes and smiled with satisfaction.Today’s party was really a big deal. Not only did he almost had Cora in his arms but he also heard some information about his most hated relative. ************** *TRISTAN* I could see that her eyes were wide opened in shock by my action.I could also tell that Marcus was no longer around us.I should move back now. I should let go of her.I should take my lips away from hers. But I found myself taking a nibble of her lips.And another nibble and then I began to kiss her,deeply. I felt like I was going crazy.When I touched her soft lips,I was so captivated by her. The sweetness of her mouth made me lose my mind and I just wanted to ask for more. I sucked on her lips and on her tongue.I was reluctant to let her go.I cupped her chinned and kissed her,hurriedly now as if I was starving. I wanted more. As I placed my hand on her chest,I suddenly felt a sharp pain on my lower lip. “You…you bit me!”I shrieked moving away from her. She had bit me so hard that I was bleeding. “You said I made you sick?How dare you kiss me?!”I watched Cora wiped her mouth in disgust as she glared at me. I blinked,racking my brain for possible explanation to the kiss. “I…you…you were talking on and on in front of Marcus.I had to stop you.You know the kind of person he is.” After saying that,I felt more confident that I had done the right thing. Without saying anything more to me,she tidied up her dress and stormed off leaving me standing there in a disoriented state. *************** *CORA* Don’t think about the kiss! Don’t think about the kiss! Don’t think about the kiss! I repeated these words to myself like a mantra. I didn’t want to think about how good it felt.How it made me melt in her arms.I didn’t want to think about how much I wanted him to kiss me again.I didn’t want to think about how I could still feel him on my lips. I stood alone in a corner trying to get myself together. Sighing,I looked around the hall. I didn’t like the relatives of the Godoy family.They were all hypocritical.They were thinking about how to grab more family property and how to rip some benefits. They didn’t genuinely consider one another as family. I looked coldly at them with contempt. Another man in the family,Alvin moved closer to my side and he instantly seemed to understand the mood I was in. “If you’re finding it hard to get through this party,you can just drink.Trust me,time passes by quickly when you’re drunk.One minute you’re gulping down alcohol after alcohol and the next,you’re home in bed and wondering how you got home.Then you get told the bunch of crazy stuff you did but it’ll be okay if you can’t remember anything that would’ve haunted you for life.”He joked. I laughed at that. His gentlemanly character and nobility made women obsessed with him.He was the kind of man women liked very much. I smiled at him.”I really do need a drink.”I agreed.”Though I really don’t want to get too drunk and do anything that would haunt me for life.” He laughed.”Yeah,good idea.” Alvin was a good company.He was fun to hang out with.After chatting with him for only a few minutes,I felt in a much better mood and my unhappiness disappeared for a while. “One more glass.”Though I was starting to feel tipsy but I still wanted to drink and chat with him. Suddenly,my wrist was grabbed.Looking at the hand holding mine,I said,angrily. “What are you doing?Let go of me.I don’t want you here.” Tristan was fun of ruining my mood and I didn’t want my mood to be ruined right now.
