Victoria's POV
"Fine, I'll leave you alone then," I said, trying to push away from his iron grip. "Let me go, and you can do whatever you want!"
Instead of releasing me, Damien's eyes darkened. His fingers dug deeper into my waist as he growled, "What gives you the right to abandon me? Why won't you take care of me?"
I stared at him, speechless. This was ridiculous. Was there any winning with him? If I tried to help, he pushed back.
If I backed off, he demanded attention. Alpha males were impossible when emotional—and a drunk, emotional Alpha was apparently even worse.
He was a walking, growling contradiction, and I was caught right in the middle.
"You're completely intoxicated," I sighed, my wolf Nora whimpering inside me, concerned for her mate. "We won't get anywhere talking now. Let's get you home. We can discuss everything tomorrow when you're sober."
