Victoria's POV
The ocean breeze had been a welcome reprieve from my chaotic life, but after just a couple of days at the beach, I was back to my relentless work schedule. I needed to handle all my business affairs here before returning to my territory where the Crescent Dawn Pack was headquartered.
I hadn't been by Grandfather William's side for several days. Though he assured me his health was improving, I couldn't help but worry. The Alpha of our pack might be recovering, but I knew how stubborn he could be about admitting weakness.
By the time I finished my work that night, the clock had already struck eleven. I gathered my things, feeling my wolf, Nora, restless inside me. She'd been on edge lately, sensing danger I couldn't quite identify.
*You should call for additional security,* Nora suggested in my mind.
*We'll be fine,* I assured her. *Our regular driver is waiting downstairs.*
My phone buzzed with a message from Grace. She was asking if I'd finished work and when I'd be home
