Chapter 81
Coach stormed toward me, his face tight with fury, eyes sharp enough to cut through my gear.
"Locker room. After you get that hand wrapped."
He didn't wait for a reply, just shot me one last glare and then turned and walked off.
The team doctor didn't speak at first. He just worked, wrapping my wrist in clean, tight layers. The pain throbbed with every movement.
"You'll need six to twelve weeks for a full recovery. No playing, no stress on the joint."
He gave me a polite, forced smile and a pat on the shoulder before heading off.
I sat there for a moment, staring at the white bandage wrapped around my hand. My fingers were stiff. My pulse was still angry.
I had let Cole get to me, let the rage steer the wheel, and now I was benched because of it. I exhaled, long and low, regret coiling in my gut.
I didn't think it would do any good to whine about it. The damage was done. I stood up, rolled my shoulders, and made my way to the locker room.
