Alexander and Theodore had essentially fallen out. Isabella felt a pang of guilt, believing she was the cause. This was not the outcome she wanted to see.
"Are you really going to force Alexander into an arranged marriage?" Isabella asked cautiously, looking at Theodore.
He had his head lowered as he peeled an apple for her. When he handed it to Isabella, her gaze fell upon it, and she froze completely.
