Chapter 843
Meanwhile, the only man here was Ryan!
Nina lazily got out of the bathtub, and scratch marks were all over her thighs. Sherry couldn't help but frown at the sight.
"I've bathed enough. It's your turn now!" Nina purposely dressed slowly, ensuring Sherry saw the scratch marks on her legs.
Sherry pretended not to notice, instead focusing on the bathtub. It was filled with peanuts, white floating substances, and many black petals.
Understanding dawned on her. With a resentful and ridiculing gaze, she looked at Ryan, who stood by the riverside. Disgusted, Sherry pulled the drain stopper and began scrubbing the bathtub clean with several containers of water.
As Nina finished dressing, she crossed her arms and watched Sherry with satisfaction. She couldn't help but chuckle, "Don't wear your clothes like that anymore. Do you think you can seduce Ryan like that?"
Sherry scoffed. "Why would I want to seduce him? If anyone's seducing someone, he would be the one seducing me."
Nina narcissistically caressed her right thigh. "Ryan likes a hot woman like me. I don't even have to unbutton my shirt to make him keep his eyes on me. Let me tell you a secret—we just had some fun in the bathtub."
"Oh, really?" Sherry kept her cold smile. "I never would've known!"
Nina's face fell slightly, and she couldn't help but feel somewhat disappointed. "You couldn't tell? Then why are you scrubbing the bathtub? The scratch marks on my thighs are from our intense sex. Ryan's core sure is powerful!"
Sherry replied, "I'm scrubbing it because it's dirty. It kinda smells like trash!"
After saying that, she picked up the container again to get more water. Nina wanted to follow Sherry and argue with her. However, Ryan, Freya, and Camelia were nearby, so Nina had no choice but to endure it.
Meanwhile, Ryan was discussing something with Camelia and Freya by the river.
The cave's limited space was becoming an issue. If they harvested more corn, sweet potatoes, and peanuts, they'd run out of storage space. They couldn't consume everything they had, so they needed somewhere dry and cool to store their harvest.
Freya and Camelia suggested building another shack, but Ryan disagreed.
"It could leak in the shack, and that's not ideal for storing food. Besides, the whole shack might be blown away if there's a storm. Then, the rainwater will get into the shack, and the food would be ruined."
He proposed another solution. "Let's build an underground cellar that can withstand strong winds."
Confused, Freya asked, "A cellar is suitable for a place that doesn't have much rain. However, it often rains here, and there are typhoons too. Wouldn't the cellar get flooded?"
Ryan said confidently, "As long as we design it well, we won't have to worry about a flood. We can leave this up to our very own technical expert!"
When they were having dinner that night, he told Eloise about the plans he had discussed with Freya and Camelia. Eloise said nothing and dropped her utensils. Then, she walked to the blackboard and sketched the design blueprints with chalk.
She muttered, "We can prepare for the wind by covering the cellar with some wooden planks tied together. Then, we can lay some leaves on them before covering everything with soil. We can cover the interior walls with lime to prevent rain from leaking in and making the interior humid.
"Then, we can place charcoal on the ground to absorb the moisture in the air. Also, we can't place our harvest on the ground. Instead, we need to put them on a log. That means we need to make a wooden beam to place our harvest."
Eloise pondered the proposal over and over before deciding on her vote. "That's what we'll do, Ryan!" When she stood aside, he saw that she had completed the cellar design. She even drew some vents!
Ryan looked at the other women with a grin. "See? I told you Ms. Zimmer was the perfect person to design the cellar. What do you think? She finished the design in just an hour!"
