Chapter 6

Seraphina's POV Golden light penetrated the white curtains as I opened my eyes. I woke up slowly, squinting and holding my dizzy head. When I was fully conscious, I froze for a moment as I realized where I was. A naked body was curled up next to me, breathing steadily. I covered my mouth when I saw a long scratch on the man's back—something I had done. I cursed myself. What had I done to him? It seemed that I had completely lost my mind. One word echoed in my mind: escape! I slowly got out of bed and dressed with trembling hands. My heart was pounding again—not because of the kiss, but because of panic and fear. Every time I moved, I glanced at him warily, but the man remained fast asleep, snoring softly. I tiptoed toward the door, careful not to make a sound. All along the corridor, last night's events replayed in my mind. His wet lips and warm breath, the way he kissed me so skillfully, made me drunk. His warm embrace and the way he held me made my heart race. All those memories left
