Kaelos’s POV
Jealousy. That was the word that best described the feeling gnawing at my chest right now, even though every inch of me refused to admit it. The image of Seraphina talking to those two men—the way they laughed, the way they looked at her with sparkling eyes—made the primitive instinct in me want to break their necks one by one.
I began to doubt everything. Did Seraphina really see me as more than just Callista's brother? Or was I just a projection of her loneliness, someone who happened to be there when she needed protection?
The way those wolves swarmed around her like bees chasing honey made frustration boil up inside me. They knew nothing about her, nothing about the vulnerability hidden behind her smile, or the way her eyes flashed when she was angry. They only saw the surface—a beautiful woman with a friendly smile.
