The next morning, Donovan took Giselle to the island's town. The car jolted along a rough coastal road, taking nearly 40 minutes to reach the small town, which had just a hint of commercial activity.
Being on a remote island in the Marindor Sea, the scenery along the way was mesmerizing. Every glance out the window looked like a postcard brought to life, breathtaking and soothing at the same time.
Giselle still wasn't in the mood to talk. She pressed her face to the car window, silently taking in the views. Then, as the car rounded a bend, her eyes lit up. In the distance, she spotted another tiny island at the edge of the ocean, shrouded in mist and looking almost magical.
"I want to go there," she said, pointing at the far-off island.
Donovan followed her gaze and casually said, "Sure, we'll go there later."
He then asked the driver in Edevanian whether there were any boats to the island.
