LUCAS'S POV
The event was coming to an end, thanks to the Goddess for that. My head throbbed, my mouth felt dry from countless conversations, and my cheek aches from too many forced smiles. These events always take longer than necessary. Everyone pretending to be more polished than they really were. But still, it went well. Queens Academy had made its mark.
Elora excused herself to use the restroom, leaving me near the exit. She looked exhausted but still composed as ever, handling everything with the same grace she always managed to pull out of nowhere. As I watched her walk into the hallway, I prepared to head toward the exit.
