Chapter 17
ELORA'S POV
I wake up to a quiet morning with the morning sun seeping through the curtains, my arm spread out to where Lucian had laid only to find it cold and empty.
Perhaps I'd dreamed about it all, I muttered to myself briefly—the dinner, Lucian's silence, and all that went down last night. But then the pain in my chest betrayed me and proved me otherwise, It was all too real.
Lucian had gone off after that phone call. I'd heard him walk out the door and he never came back till now.
I threw off the blanket and gradually sat up.
I went over the window and looked out, hoping to spot his car but his space was empty.
Checking the clock made my eyes widen.
“Nora…” I groaned, heading to her bedroom.
The hallway was dark, which meant her lights were still off.
She's still sleeping?
I knocked on her door lightly.
Silence.
“Nora,” I knocked loudly this time. “Get up. You're going to be late for school.”
