LUCAS’S POV
I've had a lot on my mind lately. Ever since Lucian came to the Academy to take Elora back with him, something hasn’t sat right with me. The way he looked at her, the way she couldn’t even look back at him, I saw it all from the corner of my office.
And the fact that he still hasn’t signed the divorce papers? That says a hell of a lot.
Is he having second thoughts? Regrets? Or maybe…he just doesn’t want to let her go.
I leaned back in my chair, staring blankly at the ceiling of my office. My mind was too heavy. Too full of different thoughts.
“Lucas!”
I blinked, pulling myself out of my train of thoughts. And there she was—Elora, standing by the door with her brows knitted in concern.
“Have been here for a minute,” she said.
“Are you okay?”
