Chapter 480
William Turner got home late that night.
The hallway light was on, and surprisingly, Olivia Hale hadn’t gone out. She stayed in, waiting for him to have dinner together like a good wife.
As soon as William stepped in, Olivia walked over, took his briefcase with a soft voice, “I asked Mrs. Zeller to make turtle soup. I reheated it a few times already, thought you weren’t coming back.”
William gave an awkward chuckle. “Turtle soup, huh?”
Olivia shot him a look, half playful, half annoyed. “Come on, it’s called ‘Hero’s Feast.’ It’s supposed to be good for men.”
William just kept smiling faintly.
But when they sat down to eat, he didn’t even touch the soup.
After dinner, he made up some excuse to go work in the study, totally ignoring his newlywed wife.
A few days of this silence later, Olivia couldn’t take it anymore. She had been bottling it up, and now she was done pretending.
Around 2 p.m. that day, she told the maid she was going out for cards, then drove straight to the Marquess Hote
