Chapter 171
Alexander's POV
I couldn't believe what I was seeing through the haze of alcohol.
Sarah Winters, the woman who'd haunted my thoughts and dreams, pinned beneath me on my bed.
Her perfume—a mix of sandalwood and vanilla—filled my senses, making my head spin more than any whiskey could.
"What are you doing here?" I growled, tightening my grip on her wrists pinned above her head.
This had to be another cruel dream. Why else would she be here, in my bedroom, her body soft and yielding beneath mine?
My alcohol-soaked mind couldn't tell fantasy from reality anymore, but I didn't care. If this was madness, I'd embrace it.
"Alexander, I—" Her voice was just as I remembered it from my dreams.
"Why do you keep coming to my dreams?" I demanded, my face inches from hers. "Haven't you tormented me enough?"
Her eyes widened, lips parting in surprise. Even drunk, I couldn't help but fixate on how perfect her mouth looked.
