Damon's POV ‘Why did you stop me?' I growled at my wolf after leaving the dungeon and failing to reject my mate. ‘I could have rejected her and this will all be done by now!' He growled back at me with equal anger. ‘Stop it. That's our mate you're talking about. Don't you remember how long we've waited for her? And you just want to reject her? Just like that? I will not disrespect my mate. I won't let you.' ‘She's a rogue!' I reiterated, forcing him to remember my dead sister. ‘How can we be mated to a rogue?!' ‘Didn't you see her? She's different from other rogues—‘ He paused as if utterly horrified over something. ‘She was terrified… she was so scared. What could have made her look like that?' Angry as I was of him, I couldn't help but agree. He was right. She wasn't like other rogues. She didn't act feral and bloodthirsty like the rogues that had invaded our lands years ago. She was so scared and broken… like she was expecting the worst of me. But it didn't matter. Nothing will chan
