Chapter 79
DAMON
I sighed for the nth time in the last ten minutes. I was supposed to be working. There were files that needed to be signed, numbers that needed to be checked and reports that needed confirmation, but I couldn’t bring myself to do any of them.
A report sat in front of me on my desk, but I had not turned the page in the last fifteen minutes. My elbow rested on the table with my fingers tugging at my hair, but nothing was helping.
I miss her.
I know it’s just been a day since she left, but it felt like an eternity. The words on the documents before me blurred into a meaningless haze until all I could see were her eyes, and all I could hear were her giggles.
I wanted to hold her, kiss her and just see her in front of me.
My world felt off. Empty without her. She was all I could think about, and I had stopped myself countless times from going after her. She needed time to grieve the death of her father. Plus, she might be angry if I came for her.
Would it look like I didn’t trust her
