Alysia After that humiliating dinner, I hadn’t seen Alpha Damon for days. Not that I was curious though. “He’s away for business, it’s something he does a lot so you don’t have to be worried about him…” I could remember the Luna saying and it almost made me laugh and cry at the same time. Why would I be worried that my mate who despised me to the core was away? Him being away made this place feel less terrifying. “We both know that’s not true. You’re worried about him.” Molly mumbled and I ignored her because there was nothing I could say to convince her otherwise because she was overly curious about him. She thought about him all the time and bugged me with words like… “mate this, mate that…” I pushed thoughts of Alpha Damon out of my mind and focused on what I was doing. Since he left, I began working in the kitchen and it was nothing but magnificent. I had a new friend, Amanda who was the mate of the beta and she was like my guardian angel, sent to guard and direct me all the time.
