Alysia's POV
The mood in the air was gloomy, and I wasn't sure anything could be done about it. In case like these, only a miracle could help, but a small part of me just knew that it wasn't possible. The moon goddess was benevolent, but I didn't think he'd branches extended to bringing back the dead to life. Once someone was dead,that was the end of the road for them, and even though it hurt, it was a painful pill for everyone in the pack to swallow, me included.
No one saw this coming, that a day would come where the pack would be mourning their alpha. Alpha Jayden was loved by many, so it was only normal that people would come out to mourn. It'd been a couple of days since his death, and the atmosphere in the pack was nothing to write home about.
Gloom clung to each part of the place, and you could see it in the other pack members and how they reacted. Their morale to work was incredibly low, and it didn't help that nothing I did looked to be working.
