So, it was that time.
I remembered what had happened back then. Joe broke my leg, locked me in the wardrobe, and ordered me to guard the door. He warned me that if I dared to run out, he would break my other leg.
Tension, hunger, and pain had impaired my hearing. I mistook the young Aaron who was tugging at the wardrobe doors for Joe, so I kept begging him not to open them.
I was simply afraid of getting beaten up again. I stared at the young Aaron and saw a sheepish expression on his face. He froze at the childish female voice and stopped at once, not intending to approach the wardrobe again.
After hesitating for a while, Aaron brushed the dust on the floor, leaned against the wardrobe, sat up from the floor slowly, and started to talk to the younger me.
