I clutched the documents tightly in my hand as I left my office. The sharp rustle of the papers sounded louder than it should have. Each step I took felt heavier, the weight of what they represented pressing down on me. These papers would officially sever my ties with the Winter Pack. Permanently.
Hunter walked silently beside me, his steady presence a constant shield. His gaze darted around, always alert. Roman's insistence on keeping him near irritated me, but I knew there was no point in arguing. Roman had made it clear—it wasn't up for debate.
We were just passing Grace's treatment room when the air shifted. I stopped, my instincts flaring, as Alexander appeared in front of us, blocking our path. His expression was cold, his amber eyes flickering with rage.
