Author's POV Allison curled over in agony as soon as Nicole was out of sight, clutching her ribs while each breath felt like razor blades scraping her lungs. Her hidden Alpha nature meant she healed faster than humans, but the pain was still excruciating. Henry spotted her crouched by the roadside and rushed over. "What happened to you?" Concern laced his voice, his Beta instincts responding to her distress despite not knowing her true status. "I'm not feeling well," Allison managed through gritted teeth. "I need to go home." Henry gently took her arm to help her up. Allison, conscious of the water stains on her clothes and the proximity of another wolf when she was masking her Alpha scent, awkwardly pulled away from his touch. "Let me drive you home," Henry offered, withdrawing his hand when he noticed her discomfort. His eyes tracked over her pale face. "What hurts?" Allison inhaled sharply through the rib pain. "Could you just get my bag from inside? Please? I really need to leave."
