Chapter 1312
Finnigan said, "You'll surely be able to see it if you want. As long as a person is alive, there's infinite hope, and they can see all the richness in this world."
"Yes. There's infinite hope as long as we're alive." Abigail lifted her hand to touch her belly gently. "Turns out that I've always missed the snowy scenery at the Castle of Yore because I was fated to see it with my baby."
Finnigan responded, "Yes. Everything happens for a reason."
Abigail asked, "Can I ask you a question?"
Finnigan replied, "Sure."
Abigail withdrew her gaze from the distant view and looked at Finnigan. "The rumors that Xander is dead are fake news, right?"
Finnigan asked, "Why bring him up?"
Abigail responded, "Just answer me, yes or no?"
Finnigan replied, "I haven't seen him."
Abigail said, "He asked you to help me, but you haven't seen him?"
"How did you know...?" Finnigan did not finish his sentence. He paused for a moment before denying it, "He didn't ask me."
"Did he not?" Abigail smiled. "Please tell Xander or let the person who contacted you tell him that I appreciate him for sending you to help me. But ask him not to do these things in the future again."
Finnigan responded, "Abigail, being too wise may not necessarily be a good thing. Life may be less stressful if you can sometimes act unbothered."
Abigail said, "Okay, I'll try to change."
Finnigan replied, "In the future, whenever you have something that you can't talk to others about, just talk to me. Your grandfather is paying me quite a lot of money. I'll do my best to help you."
Abigail smiled. "Sure."
Finnigan said, "Abigail..."
Abigail responded, "Yes?"
Finnigan opened his mouth and wanted to say something but decided against it.
He thought, 'I'm paid to do a job. I shouldn't say something that I shouldn't.'
...
Abigail's problem was that she had emotional issues.
She felt relieved after Finnigan's counseling. Or perhaps it was because she got to know that Xander was still alive. Her condition improved a lot. That night, she even managed to drink half a bowl of soup.
Although she did not eat much, it was a positive sign.
Abigail also had the first good sleep in recent days that night.
She looked much better the next morning when she woke up.
In the mornings, Melody and Felix would accompany Abigail for a walk.
They had accompanied her for several days. Only when Abigail's condition improved did Melody and Felix return to Florivera.
Melody never expected that she would meet someone when she returned to Florivera.
Raymond was holding a bouquet of flowers while walking back and forth at the entrance of Melody's studio. He was extremely excited when he saw her. "Ms. Mane, I've been waiting for you for days. You're finally back."
Melody remembered him, but she did not want to see him. "Who are you?"
Raymond answered, "You don't remember me? I'm Raymond Seabrook. I was the branch manager of Zane Corporation in North Florivera. We met in North Florivera, don't you remember?"
Melody responded, "Zane Corporation is gone."
Raymond replied, "Even though the company is gone, I'm still here."
Melody asked, "Are we very close? What does it have to do with me that you're still here?"
Raymond said, "I fell for you the first time when I saw you in North Florivera. I want you to be my girlfriend."
