#Chapter 121: Handling It
Aurora POV
The sun’s barely up when my phone starts ringing.
The sound slices through the half-dream haze I’ve been floating in, dragging me back to consciousness with a jolt. For a second I just lie there, curled under the blankets, hoping it’ll stop.
When it doesn’t, I groan as I roll over, my hand patting the bed beside me out of habit.
It’s cold, though that’s not surprising. Dominic’s been rising earlier and earlier these past few weeks, sometimes before dawn, to handle meetings, calls, errands that I don’t even bother asking about because I definitely don’t want to know.
My arm flails across the nightstand until my fingers close around my phone. The glow from the screen is harsh in the dim room, stabbing at my eyes.
Gianna’s name flashes across the screen.
I bolt upright, the covers sliding down into my lap. Why would she be calling this early? Out of the two of us, she’s the night owl. The girl who used to sleep until noon unless I physically yanked the cover
